Our Roots

DEDICATED TO CONTINUING MIKE'S LEGACY

Mike's Kids Education Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in memory of B. Michael Caudill, superintendent of Madison County Schools from July 2001 until his death in December 2007. Mike believed every student has the ability to succeed if he or she is given the right tools. This foundation is dedicated to fulfilling Mike's desire to ensure all students in the Madison County School District have the opportunity to succeed.

Each year, Mike's Kids Education Foundation awards 18 $500 grants to teachers who bring innovative literacy programs into the classroom, as well as two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors at Madison Central and Madison Southern high schools. To date, the foundation has awarded $65,000 in literacy grants and $16,000 in scholarships.

The annual Mike's Kids Golf Scramble, held in June, is the foundation's largest fundraiser and enables MKEF to continue its programs.
